3) DoD SBIR Solicitation 2007.3 Open

DoD began accepting proposals on August 20, 2007.  The deadline for receipt of proposals is September 19, 2007.  As indicated on the solicitation main page on the DoD SBIR/STTR website (http://www.acq.osd.mil/osbp/sbir/solicitations/sbir073/index.htm):

“For reasons of competitive fairness, direct communication between proposers and topic authors is not allowed starting August 20, when DoD begins accepting proposals for this solicitation. However, proposers may still submit written questions through the SBIR Interactive Topic Information System (SITIS), in which the questioner and respondent remain anonymous and all questions and answers are posted electronically for general viewing. No direct contact between proposers and the topic authors is allowed. Written questions to SITIS must be submitted via the Internet at www.dodsbir.net/sitis.

SITIS service for this solicitation opens on July 19, 2007 and closes to new questions on September 5, 2007. All questions and answers will be posted from July 19, 2007 through September 19, 2007. 5) NIH SBIR CAP Submission Date Extended

National Institutes of Health (NIH) recently posted the following notice on their SBIR/STTR News Flash Page (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/sbirsttr_news.htm):

Submission Date Extended for SBIR Commercialization Assistance Program (CAP)

The submission date for applications to participate in the NIH SBIR Commercialization Assistance Program has been extended to September 4, 2007 (day after Labor Day) and selected participants will be notified by September 11, 2007. The CAP offers assistance with business and strategic planning and connects SBIR Phase II awardees with partners, licensees, and/or investors to help move SBIR-developed products into the marketplace. It targets those seeking investments or strategic alliances and is especially helpful with those with clinical products that may take years to commercialize. A full description of the program is available at http://www.larta.org/nihcap/NIHCAP-ProgramDescription.pdf (PDF - 326 KB).
