2)         HSARPA SBIR Announcement

The Homeland Security Advanced Research Projects Agency (HSARPA) recently posted the following notice on their website (www.hsarpasbir.com) regarding their 2007 SBIR/STTR Program:

DHS SBIR plans to open its 7.1 solicitation

On behalf of the Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate and the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO) within DHS, the FY07.1 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) solicitation will open on or about mid February, 2007. The FY07 SBIR funding level is expected to be approximately $25M this fiscal year. Proposals for the Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program will not be sought in FY07, as the annual DHS agency extramural budgets for research or research and development (R/R&D) is less than $1 billion, the minimum amount required to administer an STTR program. The DHS SBIR Program Office intends to begin a technology assistance program that may provide either technical assistance or commercialization support to small business concerns that have received DHS SBIR awards.
