DOE FY 2007 SBIR/STTR Deadline - Reminder

Deadline for (DOE) FY 2007 SBIR/STTR solicitation is November 21, 2006.
Applications must be received by 8:00 PM Eastern Time. The solicitation
indicates that “you are encouraged to transmit your application well before
the deadline. Applications received after the deadline will not be reviewed or
considered for award.” If you have problems completing the registration
process or submitting your application, call Grants.gov at 1-800-518-4726
or send an email to support@grants.gov

DHHS PHS 2006-2 SBIR Grant Application Deadline - Reminder

Final application deadline for DHHS PHS 2006-2 SBIR for non-AIDS related
topics (NIH, CDC, FDA), is December 1, 2006. Electronic grant applications
must be successfully received by Grants.gov no later than 5:00 p.m. local time
(of the applicant institution/organization) in order to be considered on time.

Applications for AIDS Related Topics (NIH) are due January 2, 2007.

NSF FY-2007 SBIR/STTR Opens

NSF began accepting proposals in response to their FY-2007 SBIR/STTR
on November 04, 2006. The deadline for proposals is December 4, 2006.
The Topics for this Round include:

Biotechnology (BT)
Electronics (EL)
Information Technology (IT)
Emerging Opportunities (EO)

ED 2007 SBIR Solicitation Opens

Department of Education (ED) began accepting proposals in response
to their 2007 SBIR Solicitation on November 6, 2006.
- The solicitation is for Fast-Track awards only!

The closing date is January 8, 2007

3 priorities exist for the solicitation:
Development of technological products that directly or indirectly lead to improved
student learning and academic achievement.

Products must fall within one of the three priority areas below:

(1) R/R&D of technological products used by students
Products intended for student use must be within one (or more) of the
following content areas: reading, writing, math, science, or pro-social
development/character development.

(2) R/R&D of technological products used by teachers
Products for teachers to use either must be within one (or more) of the
following content areas: reading, writing, math, or science, or pro-social
development/character development, OR must be a tool designed to improve
the efficiency or accuracy with which teachers carry out their administrative
responsibilities (e.g., recording and calculating grades).

(3) R/R&D of technological products used by administrators
Technological products intended for use by school, district, or state education
administrators (e.g., principal, guidance counselors, superintendents, directors
of special education) are for improving the manner in which schools are operated
(e.g., financial systems to inform school operation, network infrastructures to
inform school operation, the application of data systems to inform practice).”

DoD 2007.1 SBIR Solicitation Pre-Release and Modifications

The Department of Defense (DoD) 2007.1 SBIR Solicitation was issued for public release on
November 6, 2006. DoD will begin accepting proposals on December 6, 2006, and the
deadline for receipt of proposals is January 10, 2007. The program solicitation is available at:
http://www.acq.osd.mil/osbp/sbir/ The solicitation page on the site also includes files which
contain the topics and the specific instructions of the participating DoD Components –
Navy, Air Force, DTRA, SOCOM, CBD, and NGA.

There have been several modifications that have been made to the solicitation since it's release.
